Other Hormone Therapy's Progestins Influence On Acne

Progestins are often the critical ingredient that affects acne production, and many oral contraceptives use this influence to treat acne. Cyproterone acetate, an active used in Diane-35® is an exception.

Cyproterone acetate has a direct influence on the oil glands, and suppresses the activity of testosterone. This drug is available in Canada, but not in the United States.
